[ War Medals/Decorations ] An interesting group of 5 to Lieut. ( later Major) G.E.F. Van der Noot, Irish Guards, formerly Head Chorister at St. George's Chapel, Windsor, and a Railway Transport Officer in the Second World War, comprising: British War & Victory Medals (Lieut.); Defence & War Medals; Coronation, 1902, bronze medal, mounted court-style for wearing, generally extremely fine; together with a miniature Coronation 1902 medal (6) Also included with the lot is a [disbound] scrapbook containing numerous items relating to the recipient's time as a chorister at St. George's Chapel, Windsor, in addition to his military career; these include two named tickets for the 1902 Coronation at which event Van der Noot was singing [one is dated 26th June, the other is undated and is presumably for the second ceremony on 9th August which had been delayed due to the King's illness], a souvenir "Account of the Music at the Coronation", and a named ticket (to the Organ Loft) for the marriage of H.R.H. Princess Alice of Albany to H.S.H. Prince Alexander of Teck (Windsor, 10th February 1904); military ephemera includes a War Office letter concerning a wound and another official letter indicating that the recipient was serving in Cologne with the Army of Occupation in Feb. 1919. During the Second World War Van der Noot was R.T.O. at Euston & St. Pancras Stations.
