A gentleman's very fine Geneva minute repeating pocket watch Case: 18k gold, polished, à goutte, engraved monogram "RS", badge and motto: "Virescit Vulnere Virtus" ("Courage grows strong at a wound") of the Clan Stewart, numbered and signed gold dome, case maker's punch mark "MP", slide for repeating mechanism. Dial: enamel, Arabic numerals, auxiliary seconds, blued spade hands. Movm.: bridge movement, nickel silver, "fausses côtes" decoration, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, gold train, wolfteeth winding wheels, gold screw compensation balance, counterpoised lever. Clan Stewart Although this clan is inextricably bound up with the Royal House of Stuart, which provided kings and queens for both England and Scotland, there are highland clans, which also bear the nameStewart.
