An 1855 model officers sabre with damascus steel blade


dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Sardinian Kingdom, Beautiful, curved, single-and-false-edged blade with fine damask jelman, the first side with Savoy coat-of-arms under crown and floral motifs, the base marked 'J. E. BLECKMANN SOLINGEN' on one side and 'ECHT DAMAST' (true damask) on the other side. Typical hilt with langets and anatomically shaped, checkered ebony grip (cracked). Complete with scabbard with two suspension rings. length 95 cm.
