Michel Jean Cazabon (1813-1888) A Rare 19th Century Drawing on Paper. Artist Cazabon is regarded as the first great internationally known artists from Trinidad. He is renowned for his watercolour drawings and paintings of Trinidad scenery, Merchant's families and plantation workers, which are of historical importance. His paintings have left us with a clear picture of the many aspects of life in Trinidad through much of the 19th century. A rare, fine quality drawing of a Trinidad country scene depicting a mother and child approaching thatched huts. Graphite on paper, signed Cazabon bottom right. Measures 8.5" x 11". Unframed.
