AN5/15891Engine no. 9C-U-H/15588Transmission: ManualMileage: 39,813 (Indicated)MOT: March 2024 (Exempt)Nearly 50,000 Frogeyes were produced in total and you can see why, it’s a pretty little car with simple underpinnings meaning it’s easy to maintain and enjoy. Its quirky looks offer unusual features such as the front being one complete clam shell, there isn’t a boot lid and there are no handles on the outside of the doors. This early home market leaf green Sprite, built in April of 1959, has been used by a Healey enthusiast for a number of years, where he has taken part in local shows and classic car tours with car clubs such as Bath MC, Devizes & District MC as well as Cirencester MC. Some light modifications have been added as a result including the fitting of a 1098cc engine, navigators light, electric fuel pump, modern oil filter and remote clutch bleed. It has also had Mini headlights fitted and amber front indicator lenses. Owned since 1989, this car was restored the same year with new inner and outer sills, A-posts as well as some floor repairs. Four years ago, the engine was removed for a rebuild along with a new clutch and a re-conditioned gearbox, a 3.9:1 differential was also fitted. The owner has carried out all of the servicing and maintenance himself as many enthusiasts do. The car is well known in the owner’s club circle and offers a good drive. Sadly, some paint has been removed due to stickers being added and then removed following a charity event. The vendor also reports that the clutch does need bleeding, but it does run and drive. The sale includes a large amount of documentation including a current V5C and a heritage certificate, as well as a large number of receipts including the original purchase warranty receipt.. A copy of the original logbook is also included that was supplied by the DVLA. The seller has also included some spares, a tonneau cover, a wooden steering wheel, starter motor, spare throttle and clutch cables, accompanied by various books and manuals relating to the model.Estimate: £9,000 - 11,000To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on July 1st at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU with viewing on the 29th and 30th of June, you can also join us at our Nostalgia Social cars & coffee event on June 25th.
