[BRITISH ROYALTY]: Miscellaneous collection of A.Ls.S., some T.Ls.S. etc., by various Equerries, Ladies-in-Waiting and other members of the Royal household, all written during the first half of the 20th century, including a series of five A.Ls.S. by Cynthia Colville on behalf of Queen Mary to John Wilson of the booksellers John & Edward Bumpus Ltd., regarding the purchase and distribution of various books; series of letters to Godfrey Godfrey-Faussett (1863-1945, Friend and Aide-de-Camp to King George V) including Lord Stamfordham, Lord Cromer, Clive Wigram, H. P. Hansell (tutor to the young Princes Edward and George, the future King Edward VIII and King George VI) etc., some with interesting content concerning Royal matters, the five A.Ls.S. from Hansell written from Balmoral Castle in August 1911, discussing shooting and in one stating that Prince Albert 'shot really well & killed nearly all his birds clean. It is astonishing how he has come on....it was a treat to be out with them. As I have always said it will be some time before Prince Albert is steady with a rifle; but he has an eye like a hawk and is thoroughly keen.'; T.L.S. from the secretary of the Privy Purse regarding a pension being paid for services in the Royal Houshold, Buckingham Palace, 31st July 1936 etc. Some light tape stains and file holes to the left edges of most of the letters to Godfrey-Faussett, generally G to about VG, 31
