A GEORGE III BLUE JOHN URN CIRCA 1800-1820 Floral gilt metal capping above well chosen bands of veins, black Ashford marble stepped base 27cm high, base 9.5cm square Condition Report: Wear, marks, knocks and scratches as per age, handling, use, and cleaning. The gilding to capping rubbed- and the capping possibly slightly later. The mineral's natural flaws and the fact it fluoresces under UV making full determination of condition difficult but there are several small areas of infill which reveal slightly orange under UV. It may well be that a small section of upper edge banding has undergone sympathetic remedial work. The whole with some edge fritting and minor loss- including base.Please see additional images for visual references to condition which form part of this condition report.
