Pocket watch/pendant watch: exquisite Geneva enamel watch set with diamonds, Golay Fils & Stahl, Geneve No.21570, ca. 1900: Ca. Ø30mm, ca. 28g, 18K gold, fantastic blue engine turned enamel, set with rose cut diamonds, back lid and dome signed and numbered, fine lever movement, similar to the Patek Philippe calibre, Geneva stripes, signed especially beautiful enamel dial with blue numerals in golden cartouches, blued steel hands, in working order and in very good condition! David "Auguste" Golay died in Geneva in 1895 and his sons David "Louis" Golay and Joseph "Pierre" Golay took over the business. "Louis" became a jeweller and representative of the A. Golay-Leresche company in Paris at 2 rue de la Paix. The son "Pierre" became a watchmaker and later managed the company in Geneva. The brothers entered into partnership with Edouard Stahl in 1896. Between 1896 and 1906 the company was renamed Golay Fils & Stahl and then Golay Fils & Stahl Succrs. They also made highly refined Geneva pocket watches alongside the more famous Patek Philippe and Vacheron & Constantin! Their highly refined gold/enamel objects are highly traded today: e.g. lady's watch no. 27568, sold for more than 8,000 Swiss Francs (https://www.cortrie.de/go/Jlr); enamel box watch, sold for ca. 19,500 Swiss Francs (https://www.cortrie.de/go/Ml5).
Taschenuhr/Anhängeuhr: exquisite Genfer Emailleuhr mit Diamantbesatz, Golay Fils & Stahl, Geneve No.21570, ca.1900: Ca. Ø30mm, ca.28g, 18K Gold, fantastische blaue Guilloche-Emaille, besetzt mit Diamantrosen, Rückdeckel und Staubdeckel signiert und nummeriert, feines Ankerwerk, ähnlich den Patek Philippe Kalibern, Genfer Streifenschliff, besonders schönes, signiertes Emaillezifferblatt mit blauen Ziffern, in goldenen Kartuschen, gebläute Stahlzeiger, funktionstüchtig und sehr gut erhalten! David "Auguste" Golay verstarb 1895 in Genf und seine Söhne David "Louis" Golay und Joseph "Pierre" Golay übernahmen das Unternehmen. "Louis" wurde Juwelier und Vertreter der Firma A. Golay-Leresche in Paris in der Rue de la Paix 2. Der Sohn "Pierre" wurde Uhrmacher und leitete später die Firma in Genf. Die Brüder gingen 1896 mit Edouard Stahl eine Partnerschaft ein. Zwischen 1896 und 1906 wurde die Firma umbenannt in Golay Fils & Stahl und nachher in Golay Fils & Stahl Succrs. Sie fertigten neben den bekannteren Firmen Patek Philippe und Vacheron & Constastin ebenfalls hochfeine Genfer Taschenuhren! Ihre hochfeinen Gold/Emaille-Objekte werden heute hoch gehandelt: z.B.
