A rare Russian Orthodox icon in a gilt Silver and enamel icon of Saint Duke Vladimir. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on zinc. Mounted in a wooden frame. Comes with original Silver and enamel case by P.I. Olovianishnikov and Sons manufactory. The case is covered with polychrome enamel geometrical and foliage patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. Moscow, 1908 to 1917. A suspension loop, on the top. Marked with a standard Russian 84 Silver hallmark, a makers mark, and other marks. Weight 177.6 g.
