Property of a deceased's estate 1962 BSA 649cc Rocket Gold Star Registration no. 817 XRB Frame no. GA10.299 Engine no. DA10 R7757 A matching-numbers example (see Machine Registrar letter on file), this Rocket Gold Star was dispatched on 10th July 1962 to H E Butler of Tamworth Road, Long Eaton, Derby. In a letter on file from John Gardner to previous owner Mr King, it states the machine was inspected by Harold Gardiner in 2004 and declared to be an authentic example. Mr King had purchased the BSA from a Mr Keith Bright in 2004 (see the original buff logbook and V5C document for names of other past owners). Notable features include an RR T2 gearbox and Lucas K2F magneto. The machine has belonged to the late owner since it was purchased in 2015 for £20,500. The mileage at that time was recorded as 2,817 (current reading 2,997 miles). Also on file are photographs of an engine rebuild; a service receipt; a quantity of invoices; some old MoTs; a Broquet Fuel Catalyst guarantee; an Eddie Dow Rocket Gold Star parts list and brochure; a BSA spares list for A Group; BSA Service Sheets; and a reproduction instruction manual. Following a period of inactivity, this motorcycle will require recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent and thus is sold strictly as viewed. Key not required.
