A LARGE GILT-LACQUERED BRONZE FIGURE OF GUANYIN ON A LION

Seated in the posture of royal ease on a recumbent horned mythical beast, its head turned upwards, with ferocious open-mouthed expression, the Bodhisattva wearing loose robes cast with floral borders, adorned with jewels and beaded chains on the chest, the hair pulled up in a tall top knot, falling in long tresses over the shoulders, wearing an elaborate crown with a small central figure of Amitabha Buddha, the base cast with a broad band of lotus petals within beaded borders.
