An Ottoman repoussé silver pipe reputedly belonging to General Emile Fleury (1815-1884) Turkey, 19th Century of repoussé silver decorated with elongated panels and spiraling bands of vines, the shaft with pendent brass crescents, in fitted leather box with engraved plaque in Russian 73.8 cm. long Footnotes: Provenance General Emile Fleury (according to a plaque on the case). Private UK collection. Inscriptions: 'Smoking pipe of General Fleury, the last representative of the Second French Empire in Russia'. Introduced into the circle of Napoleon III as a young officer, Emile Fleury became a general and the premier aide-de-camp of the Emperor.
