PATTERN 1854 SCOTS GUARD OFFICER SWORD.
A very nice example of a Pattern 1854 Scots Guard Officer's Sword. The sword features a wire bound fish skin grip, mounted onto a half checkered back strap and pierced bowl guard, featuring the regimental badge of the Scots Guards. The blade has battle and laurel leaf etchings running about half way down the length of both sides of the straight blade. Blade is etched with foliage, battle honors, monogram, and regimental badge. Spine is numbered "13468". Complete with its metal scabbard and paperwork that states the sword was finished by Henry Wilkinson in 1864 and purchased by Hon. C. Montgomery. CONDITION: The blade exhibits nice finish with a few scattered blemishes. Hilt exhibits a pleasing patina with intact grip that exhibits handling wear and a few stains. Slight rust under backstrap. Scabbard exhibits a gray/chocolate patina with a few light dents. A nice example of a Pattern 1854 sword. Blade Length: 33"Overall Length: 39"Paperwork: Documentation
