AN AUSTRIAN ENAMEL VESSEL WITH CLOCK, LATE 19TH CENTURY the body formed as a nautilus atop a spreading petal foot, enamelled overall with allegorical scenes, the hinged cover as an antennaed and feathered creature, the body featuring a goddess atop a whale, with three male figures, the verso a leisure scene with a female, two males and a satyr, the base with three female and one male figures, the base centered with a clock with white enamel face, Roman and subsidiary Arabic numerals; overall height: 26 cm (10 1/4 in.) CONDITION The vessel is in overall good condition. The hinge has a tendency to stick. Tarnish is visible to the naked eye, and could benefit from a polish. N.B.
