the movement with gilt-brass plates, iron corner pillars, fusee and chain for the going train, standing barrel for the bell strike, verge escapement with plain three armed balance and later hairspring with regulator, the backplate mounted with an outside countwheel and the unidentified maker's mark IF within a shield, the well-chased gilt dog recumbent on a checkered floor with automaton eyes connected to the escapement and the mouth opening and shutting during the striking, fitted to a later ebonized base with gilt mounts and later gilt dial with foliate engraved silver center.
