WW2 German Cross (Deutsche Kreuz) in Silver with the Original Case of Issue by C F Zimmermann Pforzheim, superb example of a silver grade issue of the Order of the German Cross. Retains nearly all of its original frosted finish to the silver wreath and the black enamel swastika remains in perfect un-damaged condition. Four rivets to the reverse of the award. Complete with its original pin and catch fixing. Underside of the pin is stamped “20” for the maker C F Zimmermann, one of the most prestigious makers of this award. The order is housed in its original large leatherette box of issue with band around the top edge in a silvery gold colour, possibly tarnished silver. Some small scuffs to the box but generally a superb example of a very desirable award. This lot was brought home from Germany in 1945 by the current vendors father who was serving with the British army during WW2.
