RARE LARGE SOVIET PROPAGANDA TRAY, 1921. The interior painted with a scene of two peasant women amusing themselves on traditional standing swings (kacheli) while a Red Army soldier plays a squeezebox. Verso with Imperial Porcelain Factory mark with green cypher of Nicholas II, dated 1908 and further painted with State Porcelain Factory marks (hammer and sickle), dated 1921, and with conjoined decorator's initials AB and further inscribed in Cyrillic "by design of Dombrogaev." The design of this plate is usually attributed to Stella Vengerovskaya (1892-1961). Scarce. Length 17.5 inches (44.5 cm).
