HM King George V handwritten letter dated December 26th 1925 on York Cottage, Sandringham headed paper to his Equerry Sir B Godney Faussett - read as follows:- My dear Godfrey Thank you and yr wife for yr good wishes for Xmas & the New Year which I heartily reciprocate, I hope you will have a nice time with the Denmans & get some sport and also yr boy. Today we shot Woodcock Beat but were disappointed with the few woodcock we saw. We only got 13 or 14. It came on to rain early this morning after a frost, which evidently moved them to somewhere else. If it continues to thaw like it has today they will be able to hunt on Monday.
