A selection of late 19th century celebrity and aristocracy carte de visite photography portraits on cardstock by French photographer André-Adolphe-Eugène Disdéri (1819–1889) and his studio. Disderi was a pioneer of Victorian era portraiture, patenting the "CDV" in 1854 as a way to print albumen on cardstock. Each CDV is marked for Disderi and his studio either on the back or lower corners of print. This lot includes the following identified portraits, among others:
