Comment(s):
Probably a preliminary sketch for Foujita’s finished ink on paper drawing of 1926, currently in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Foujita, born in Tokyo, Japan, applied Japanese ink techniques to Western style paintings. His portraits of cats are especially well known. Image copyright © Artists Rights Society (ARS), New York.
