1911-S $20 MS66 PCGS. Rich orange-gold and lighter yellow-gold hues intermingle across the pristine, satiny surfaces of this Premium Gem 1911-S double eagle. The strike is bold overall, save for a touch of softness on the top of the torch. The fields are especially clean. This San Francisco issue is much scarcer than its Denver counterpart. It is seldom seen in MS66, and PCGS reports only a single Superb Gem coin diner; no higher-grade pieces are reported at NGC, making the current offering a strong candidate for a high-ranking Registry Set. Population: 63 in 66 (3 in 66+), 1 finer (11/23).
