Russian jeweler, 19th century: A Russian 14k gold Rococo revival bangle, set with a portrait, presumably the composer Frédéric Chopin. Diam. c. 5 cm. A Russian 14k gold Rococo revival bangle, set with rocailles, blue enamel stripes and a rock crystal profile portrait of a gentleman, presumably the composer Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849). Indistinct maker's mark, St. Petersburg town mark, 56 standard. 19th century. Diam. c. 5 cm. #%br/%# #%br/%# #%i%#Provenance: Seller's great-grandfather, Lassen, Danish estate manager in Russia. The father was employed at the Royal Court of Christian IX, and through Tsaritsa Maria Feodorovna and Tsar Alexander III of Russia he caused the son to create a future in Russian agriculture. Therefore, he became soon administrator of Ukrainian estates belonging to Tsar Alexander III of Russia's adjudicator, Count Musni-Puschin. Later, he also became administrator of estates belonging to Grand Duke Dmitry Constantinovich of Russia. Some members of the Lassen family fled from Russian during the revolution in 1917, while seller's grandmother fled to Denmark in connection with World War II.#%/i%#
