A MUGHAL-STYLE PALE GRAY JADE VASE, c. 1920s
China, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). The bulbous pear-shaped body rising from a lobed floriform foot carved to the underside with a blossom, the thin walls decorated with grooves below a band of acanthus leaves and flanked by a pair of curved leaves handles, all within a band of acanthus leaves below the rim and above the foot. The translucent stone of a pale gray tone with dark speckles and cloudy white inclusions.
Condition:
Very good condition with minor wear, little nibbling.
