A complete circa 1860 boxed Jaques & Son Staunton chess-set in box, weighted boxwood and ebony, the kings stamped 'JAQUES LONDON' the rooks and knights also stamped with a crown mark, the king 9cm high, the pawn 4.5cm high, in a mahogany case with hinged cover, felt lined interior, paper label to lid inscribed 'The Staunton Chess-men Two Prize Medals Awarded 1862, boxwood and ebony', with a facsimile signature.
