KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 17 mm, 8.63 g, 6 h), Amphipolis, struck under Philip II or Alexander III, circa 340/36-328. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. [ΦΙ]ΛΙΠΠO[Y] Charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below horses, ivy leaf. Le Rider 86 (D40/R66). Very fine.
