Swiss Guards Regiment saber, model 1763, Monarchie Constitutionnelle, reign of Louis XVI, circa 1791-1792
Brass mounting. Three-pronged hilt forming a lateral scallop shell, long-tailed cap, wooden handle with brass filigree, poucier. Curved, flat blade, engraved on the front "COMPe DE Lory N° 24", and on the other side "REGIMt DES GARDES SUISSES", hallmark "MR" for Manufacture Royale, hallmark in use from July 1791 to September 1792 within a crown of pearls, length 69.8 cm.
France. Monarchie Constitutionnelle, reign of Louis XVI Good condition, guard limb broken at bottom but not missing, blade with slight oxidation, without scabbard.
