A pair of large Ostrogothic silver bow brooches, mid 5th century
An impressive pair of large bow brooches with notched decoration. A stylised eagle's head on the semicircular head and rhombic foot. The rims of the feet each with four almandine inlays. The inner surfaces of heads and feet, the semi-circular and geometrically decorated temples, and the eagle heads with gilding. The pins are missing. Else intact. Length 22 cm. Weight 403 g.

Eindrucksvolles Paar gro§er BŸgelfibeln mit Kerbschnittdekor. Am halbrunden Kopf und rhombischen Fu§ je ein stilisierter Adlerkopf. Die RŠnder der FŸ§e mit je vier Almandineinlagen. Die InnenflŠchen von Kopf und Fu§, die halbrunden und geometrisch dekorierten BŸgel sowie die Adlerkšpfe mit Vergoldung. Die Nadeln fehlen. Sonst intakt. LŠnge 22 cm. Gewicht 403 g.
