Japanese Shinto Period Samurai Katana Sword ~ signed Buzen Kokura Ju Tomoyuki

Shinto katana, 25 inch length of cutting edge, signed Buzen Kokura Ju Tomoyuki, ca. late 1600s. The blade shows a well-grained itame hada that mixes with a running masame hada into the hamon. The hamon is a Soshu-style gunome midare with large, complex gunome peaks. There are activities like sunagashi, kinsuji, and some yubashiri in and along the hamon. The blade is mounted samurai style mounts with a dragon themed tsuka, having gold foil dragons on shakudo nanako background for both the fuchi and kashira, as well as high quality shakudo dragons for the menuki.
