Titanic, Chess Board Made from Wreck Wood


Lot consists of a chess board made from Titanic wreck wood by the cable ship Minia's carpenter, William Parker. The Minia was sent out to recover bodies of Titanic victims, but also recovered alot of woddne debris. Parker made several pieces from the recovered wreck wood, including this chess board. Originally at the Manitoba Museum of the Titanic. Approx. 18" x 18". Excellent condition, constructed of inlaid mahogany, walnut, oak, and pine. Includes provenance report prepared by Steve Santini, dated 2001, Historian Curator Titanic Concepts Inc.
