A cavalry general's helmet dating: Late 19th Century provenance: Russian Empire, Skull lacquered in black, with leather visor and neck-guard (right half detached but preset, easy to repair), visor with gilded, brass, engraved border. A big imperial eagle in front, under a bandeau 'For merit'; flamed chape on a cross-base, engraved en suite. Chin-strap with convex scales on a painted cockade and medallions with crown. Morocco leather inside and silk cap, stamp on the skull cap. Scarce. height 26 cm.
