A PATINATED RUSSIAN BRONZE FIGURAL GROUP
“Cossack Hunter with Two Greyhounds”
Cast by C.F. Woerffel after a model by Vasili Grachev (1831-1905), late 19th century.
On a naturalistic oval base, realistically cast as a hunter on horseback smoking a pipe, with two greyhounds.
Signed on base in Cyrillic “LEP. GRACHEV”, also with foundry mark “FABR. C.F. WOERFFEL ST. PETERSBOURG”, with a Finance Ministry stamp dated 1877.
