One volume in-4 in leaves under printed filled cover and 2 volumes of continuation, each under mute wallet with flaps; the whole under post cardboard folder and slipcase. (DEVAUCHELLE). Discharge of some engravings, otherwise a very fine copy.

Frontispiece and 75 color etchings by Charles MARTIN in the text.

Edition of 125 copies, all on Arches vellum. This is one of 15 first editions with a suite of all the color illustrations and a suite of all the black illustrations.

Copy of the bibliophile Maurice Bock, ENRICHED WITH 7 ORIGINAL AQUARELLA DRAWINGS, namely: a small original drawing on a flyleaf signed and dedicated to M. Block; a large, captioned full-page watercolor drawing of portraits of Villon and Margot; and 5 original watercolor drawings, sometimes enhanced with silver, in the text blanks on pages 36, 45, 122, 132 and 135, one signed by Charles Martin and the other 4 by his monogram.

One of the achievements of Charles Martin, one of the most talented artists of the Art-Deco period, whose incisive, elegant style is immediately recognizable.
