AN OAK AND FRUIT WOOD DINING TABLE OF 'REFECTORY TYPE', EARLY 17TH CENTURY AND LATER 73cm high, 319cm wide, 80cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and useOld splits and cracks, chips and losses, some joints opening to the plank top, also other old joints with metal bracing and re-enforcement, signs of joints opening and some replacement timber to the tops of the legs near the metal bracing, the lower stretcher also with some joints opening and signs of old fillerSigns of old woodworm to lower portions including losses and rot to the leg ends where they have sat on a damp/cold floorThe edges of the table top appear to be later applied, some later timber to underside of the top also, stretchers to the legs appear to be later (though the table almost certainly always had them)Colour variance and uneven wear - including the polished appearance to the top, the base more matt overall, there is some variation to the polished surface from age and use - indentations to the top through the polish, old knot-holes Overall appears solid and stablePlease see additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer
