in France, pamphleteer, friend of the Girondins) addressed to M. le Baillif. Paris, 30th
germinal an III [April 19, 1795], 2 pp. in-4. He thanks his correspondent for the care
of his son Felix, and mentions his edition of Madame ROLAND's Memoires.
ROLAND: "I am sending you what is currently being published of the memoirs of a
republican woman, to whom I have done little justice in calling her a greater
man than her husband. You will find in it all the hallmarks of truth [...] it was
thrown together without pretension, without method, without study, without art, almost under the scaffold". He evokes the perils that surround them, not only terrorism, "very avid for our ruin, and our blood", but also royalism "so adept at taking on all sorts of forms, and whose resurrection would give birth to so many cruel factions among us". He hopes that harmony between France and Switzerland will never be disturbed, etc. At the head of the letter, his wife Lodoiska has written this autograph note: "This letter was written to Veiss by my dear Louvet, a clerk has copied it".

-Item with autograph apostille. S.l., 27 Vendemiaire an III. 1 p. in-folio. He asks Merlin de Douai to promote citizen Dufriche "worthy in every respect".
