A navy officer's sabre dating: Late 19th Century provenance: Mexico, Curved, single-and-false-edged blade, with groove at the center, marked 'Eickhorn' at the tang, engraved with vessel, anchor and floral motifs at the first part, and featuring an erased badge at the center. Brass hilt, the valve pierced with an anchor with no crown and floral motifs. Pommel shaped as an eagle's head. Ivory grip, decorated with spirals (cracks) and metallic wire binding. Leather scabbard with brass hilts embossed with anchors and floral motifs. Two suspension rings. length 83 cm.
