A silver mounted kilij with Koranic inscriptions dating: late 18th Century provenance: Turkey, Curved, single-and false-edged blade at the foible, back with central raiser and fuller for three quarters, on both facets. Fine Koran inscriptions inside the fuller, inlaid in gold. Some areas with pitting, traces of damask. Silver hilt with long quillons, ribbed and ending in cusps, with engraved geometrical frames, langets, Tughra and stamp. Thick, horn grip scales with silver central band, stamped and marked with Tughra. Complete with wooden scabbard, covered with black leather, stitched on the back with a large band in silver thread. Chape, cap and two bands with frames en suite with the sword's quillon and small engravings. Cap complete with a rare rear openable band. Two bands with a lug, stamped. Tughra and stamps, on chape and bands as well. length 91,7 cm.
