Glazed porcelain figurine depicting an old peasant woman wearing a blue sarafan with a white head scarf, sitting on a wooden chest and spinning wool, Russian Empire, the factory of Alexei Popov, mid-nineteenth century. Marked on the bottom with a maker's mark in blue ink underglaze. The surface is neatly hand-painted. Reference: The figurine was published in the catalog “Russia. Private factories.
