A RUSSIAN PORCELAIN PART DINNER SERVICE FROM THE FARM PALACE BANQUET SERVICE, IMPERIAL PORCELAIN MANUFACTORY, ST. PETERSBURG
comprising three Serving Platters, a Fish platter, six Soup Plates, twelve Dinner plates and six Dessert plates, all period of Nicholas I (1825-55), a large Tureen and Cover, unmarked, and a boat-shaped Serving Dish, period of Alexander II (1855-81), all pieces gilded with the cypher "A" for Grand Duke Alexander Nicholaevich (later Alexander II) below an Imperial crown, blue borders.
CATALOGUE NOTE
This service was originally produced in 1804/41 for the small private residence in the Alexandria Park at Peterhof of the heir to the throne Grand Duke Alexander Nicholaevich.
