PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Time of Darios I to Xerxes II, circa 485-420 BC. Daric (Gold, 14 mm, 8.31 g), Sardes. Persian king or hero in kneeling/running stance to right, holding spear in his right hand and bow in his left. Rev. Oblong irregular incuse. Carradice Type IIIb A/B (pl. XIII, 27). BMC Arabia pl. XXIV, 26. A lovely and well struck example. Good very fine.
