His Majesty King George V - handwritten letter on Windsor Castle headed mourning paper - crossed through by the King 'Newmarket', dated June 30th 1926 to his equerry, Sir Bryan Godfrey Faussett 'My dear Godfrey, I am so sorry to hear from your letters that your lung has not cleared up yet and that you will have to go away somewhere for three months, when I trust you will be quite fit and well again. It really is bad luck your being ill like this ever since March but you must carry out the Doctor's instruction, you can't play the fool with lungs. I will try and see your wife today and hear all about you. Don't worry about your waiting. Claud and Cust are going to divide July between them and it will be quite all right. Glorious weather now and this bracing air does me so much good. I was riding early this morning and it was divine. I am going to Sandringham tomorrow when Bland will tell me about the partridges.
