Unrecorded Minerva Press on multi-colour paper.- Lewis (Matthew Gregory) The Monk, 3 vol., printed on yellow, pink, blue, white and green-brown paper, half-titles, light soiling, occasional restoration margins, occasional marginal chips or tears, imprint on title and half-title crossed through, some light toning to pages, bookplates to front pastedowns, handsome late 19th century brown straight-grain morocco, gilt, with 2 green vertical inlayed straps, some light surface soiling and slight rubbing, 12mo, Printed at the Minerva Press, A. K. Newman and Co. Leadenhall Street, 1819.*** A highly unusual bibliographic oddity. Neither Blakey nor McLeod record this edition and we have been unable to trace any examples of Minerva Press printings of Lewis' Monk or of the press printing on multi-coloured paper.Provenance: John Kermack (bookplate); Herbert S.
