A PATINATED RUSSIAN BRONZE FIGURAL GROUP
"After the Battle"
Cast by N. Shtange after the model by Evgeny Lanceray (1848-1886), late 19th century.
On an oval naturalistic base, cast as a Cossack warrior on horseback, wiping the blood off his sword using his horse mane, the horse of his defeated enemy is tethered to his mount.
Signed on base in Cyrillic “LEPIL E. LANCERAY”, also with foundry mark "OTL. N. SHTANGE"
