The Bab Zuweila city gate, located in the south of Cairo, was built around 1091/1092 in the Byzantine style in connection with the rebuilding of the city wall. Above the gateway is a loggia where musicians used to announce the ruler. The view through the gateway falls on one of the minarets of the al-Azhar Mosque.

Das im Süden von Kairo gelegene Stadttor Bab Zuweila wurde um 1091/1092 im Zusammenhang des Neubaus der Stadtmauer im byzantinischen Stil errichtet. Oberhalb des Tordurchgangs befindet sich eine Loggia, auf der Musiker den Herrscher ankündigten. Der Blick durch den Tordurchgang fallt auf eines der Minarette der al-Azhar-Moschee.
