Oil on canvas. Signed twice lower left. Verso on the stretcher on the artist's original label dated 1946, titled, inscribed «Original! Doppelschicht! Farben: Perthun: Mussini! Oel: gebl. Terp. S.F. (ohne Rahmen)» as well as numbered «5» by hand and with the measurements «70 x 90». Verso on the stretcher inscribed by a different hand «(1946) Karl Hauptmann/Feldberg i.Schw./».

Karl Hauptmann's art was also spread in the form of postcards. So far, seventeen different cards by the Feldberg painter have been located. The painting shown here was one of them. Carrying the no. 2172, the coloured card was published by the Kunstverlag Emil Köhn, Munich. Hauptmann's paintings gained recognition outside the Black Forest through the postcard reproductions and advertised the beauty of the landscape at the same time

Very good overall impression. Tiny stains (approx. 1 mm) upper left, barely noticeable white shrinking cracks in the sky. The work has been professionally cleaned and is newly varnished.

Öl auf Leinwand. U.l. zweifach sign. Verso auf dem Keilrahmen auf einem Originaletikett des Künstlers handschriftlich 1946 dat., bet., bez. «Original! Doppelschicht! Farben: Perthun: Mussini! Oel: gebl. Terp. S.F. (ohne Rahmen)» sowie «5» num. und mit den Maßen «70 x 90» versehen. Verso auf dem Keilrahmen von fremder Hand bez. «(1946) Karl Hauptmann/Feldberg i.Schw./».

Die Kunst von Karl Hauptmann fand auch in Form von Postkarten Verbreitung. Bisher konnten siebzehn verschiedene Karten des Feldbergmalers ausfindig gemacht werden. Das hier abgebildete Gemälde war eines davon. Die farbige Karte wurde von dem Kunstverlag Emil Köhn, München, unter Nr. 2172 herausgebracht. Hauptmanns Gemälde erhielten durch die Postkartenreproduktionen auch außerhalb des Schwarzwaldes Anerkennung und warben zugleich für die Schönheit der Landschaft

Zustandsbericht:
Sehr guter Gesamteindruck. O.l. winzige Flecken (ca. 1 mm), kaum merkliche Frühschwundrisse im Himmel. Das Werk wurde fachmännisch gereinigt und neu gefirnisst.
