A Japanese boxwood and ivory okimono, Meiji period (1868-1912), carved with four monkeys appraising a hanging scroll of a painting with Shouki catching a monkey, signed Masayoshi tou , 18.5cm high Provenance: From the Estate of Mrs Althea Lloyd. Restoration to the body, right arm and right thumb of the far left monkey, and to the right pinky finger of the far right monkey and the middle monkey. The top of the scroll with a small crack, one ivory roller end loose, the top of ivory rope broken and glued. A small chip to the bottom of the stick.
