TWO RARE SNOW LEOPARD SKIN RUGS, EARLY 20TH C later scalloped edge, felt backing, 219 & 234cm l (excluding selvedge) Provenance: H H Maharaja Sir Ganga Singh, GCSI, GCIE, GCVO of Bikaner, India (1880-1943) by whom presented to the grandmother of the present vendor in the 1920s. The rugs are shown in a photograph taken in the drawing room of her villa in the South of France in 1936. ++Both in good condition, the original backing possibly bearing a taxidermist's label removed when moth eaten in the 1960s or '70s and replaced with the present felt backing which is in good condition, the skins also in good condition
