A pocket sundial with compass by Macquart dating: first quarter of the 18th Century provenance: France, Silver watch case. Octagonal quadrant, engraved both in Roman and Arabic numbers, signed 'Macquart Paris'. Compass at the base with intact glass and functioning. Folding gnomon, made with two plates, engraved and moulded to effigy a bird, holding the main plate, this one decorated with flowers. Back with inscriptions of numerous European cities and their latitude, and with floral engravings. Complete with antique case (signs of use and time), with external covering in leather, decorated with gilded imprints. Lined with white velvet inside. dimensions 6 x 7,2 x 0,8 cm.
