1500s Koto Period Japanese Katana Sword ~ 28 inches blade ~ NTHK certificate


Koto katana, mumei o-suriage with multiple holes in the tang, ca. Tensho era, late 1500s. The 28 inch blade shows a refined itame hada with Soshu inspired notare hamon with prevalent hataraki. The blade is mounted samurai style mounts with namban tsuba and custom lacquered saya; blade and mounts in mint condition. With NTHK certificate attributing the blade to Jumyo, ca. 1570s
