The so-called "Funny Number" series of the East Caribbean States was a very short-lived issue of notes back in 1993 that modernized the previous design. It included a rather odd placement of the denomination in the corners, which made it hard to read, along with a rather difficult to see color scheme. As a result, the following year, in 1994, an update to this design was introduced which makes the denomination easier to read. This has always been a key type for East Caribbean States and it remains very scarce to this day. This example, printed for Anguilla, is surpassed in the PMG population report by just a single finer example.
