Grenadier Guards Officer`s Victorian Sword An extremely lightweight example (approx. 18 ounces) of the levŽe weight sword by H. Wilkinson (blade Serial No. 14328 indicating 1866) etched with VR cypher, grenade, battle-honours to ÔSEVASTOPOL`, and owner`s monogram. Steel Gothic guard with grenade in the cartouche, and fishskin grip. Housed in plated scabbard. GC. The monogram is probably that of the Hon. Henry Colville Needham, commissioned into the regiment in June 1864.
